What do you do to prepare yourself to have a success mindset?

I run a real estate agency and have a bunch of clients. I have the same problem happening again and again. Leads come in… people enter name, email, phone number… and they don’t respond… When the agent calls them, they say, “Oh, I’m just looking around,” because they don’t want to talk to a salesperson. Do you have any ideas, besides emails and retargeting, on how to warm those leads up so they’ll want to answer the phone or have the conversation?

I think that the biggest thing for me is that I believe so much in what I’m doing that I just get so excited. I wake up in the morning and first off, I get a Voxer every morning that screams about being excited to build funnels. How do you not get excited for that? So find a friend and tell them to message you every single day to scream at you. “It’s Monday, baby!” Because that gets you excited.

When I’m driving to the office I think about the people that we’re serving and for me that’s what fires me up the most. Just knowing what we’re doing. So for you, you’re doing Facebook ads for clients and if you’re not having success, my guess because I’ve been through the ups and downs of motivation, the times my motivation was down, it was 100% tied to the fact that I wasn’t in love with the clients I was serving.

If you’ve read the Dotcom Secrets book intro, we talk about the secret formula. The first thing I talk about it how when we built a company with 100 employees and I woke up one day and I was laying in bed and I was like, “I hate this. I hate everything about it. I wish that I had a boss so that he could fire me for not showing up today, but I’m the boss. I have to go.” I was miserable because I had picked the wrong clients. I was in this funk for 3 or 4 years. It was hard to wake up every single morning.

If you went to Funnel Hacking Live you heard me talk about my failure stories. We were on the brink of bankruptcy and I wanted to walk away and I couldn’t because of a lot of reasons. But it wasn’t until we shifted who we were serving that things shifted for me. So my guess, if you’re doing Facebook ads for clients, I bet you hate your clients. You’re probably not willing to say that, but I bet you’re not fired up. And if you’re not, what I would do is fire your clients. Or maybe you can’t fire them yet, because they’re feeding you, but think about who your dream client is. Who would you be so fired up in the morning knowing you get to serve that person that you wake up screaming because you get to help that person today, and you are literally changing the world?

When I wake up in the morning I know I get to serve entrepreneurs who are passionate and exciting and trying to change the world. There’s a reason I wrote the book Expert Secrets, it’s that I know the people that read that book are people that I actually want to hang out with, people who are trying to change the world. So I wrote a book to attract my dream clients because that’s who I want to serve and work with.

So for you, if you’re not happy with your clients, think what clients you would be happy with and then create the bait, landing page, opt in, content or whatever to grab those people and bring them to you. Because if you’re excited about your clients, everything else will fall into place.

Incantations and things like that are great, don’t stop doing those. But when you have something that’s pulling you it’s way easier than having something that you are trying to push yourself to. Because there a lot of things that you need to push yourself to, but if you get something that gives you so much passion and excitement that it pulls you, it’s just like you’re running. Change your dream client and it will change everything else for you.
