How can I influence someone to leave their 9 to 5 job and become an entrepreneur?

CUSTOM JAVASCRIPT / HTML

What is the best way to influence someone in a 9 to 5 job and help them in their journey so that they become successful and quit that job?

I run a real estate agency and have a bunch of clients. I have the same problem happening again and again. Leads come in… people enter name, email, phone number… and they don’t respond… When the agent calls them, they say, “Oh, I’m just looking around,” because they don’t want to talk to a salesperson. Do you have any ideas, besides emails and retargeting, on how to warm those leads up so they’ll want to answer the phone or have the conversation?

Answer:

At the Funnel Hacking Live event Garrett White gave a presentation where he had everyone stand up and chant this, “I am not a savior, I’m a leader, I’m a marketer.” If you’re trying to convince somebody to quit their 9 to 5 job and leave, you’re trying to save them from something. They may not want to be saved.

When I first got in this business, that’s the first thing I tried to do. I started selling stuff and having success, and I thought everyone needed to know. I started bugging my family and friends, every person I knew. I was trying to shove this thing down their throat because I thought it was the greatest thing in the world. What blew my mind was that most people didn’t care.

I was so excited, and I think that’s why I’m so passionate about teaching it now, because some people do care and they come to you. If there’s someone that is not naturally coming to you, you don’t need to be a savior. They’re probably happy, they get security and significance. They get all the things they want from their job, that’s why they’re there.

At the second Funnel Hacking Live, Sean Stephenson, our 3 foot giant spoke and he’s amazing. He told this cool story that I’m going to mess up. But it literally put me and the entire audience in tears. When there’s a boat that capsizes in the ocean and there’s all these people drowning, the helicopter will come and will try to save people. How do they decide? There’s 50 people in the water, who do you save There’s kids, moms, husbands, all these people. Who do you save?

The only people you can save are the one’s swimming towards you. Those are the ones you save and take out of the water. What’s interesting, when we’re out there, people are going away and we’re trying to save them, but you can’t save people who don’t want to be saved. If people are coming towards you, those are the people you’re trying to save.

So for you, go put your message out there to the world and your people will hear your voice and come to you. Those are the people you can save. You can’t help the other people. If you’re trying and trying to convince and persuade someone, that’s not the right person. If they’re coming to you saying they want to be out of there, what can they do? That’s the person to help and serve. That’s my advice, I hope that helps.
